Dylan Marino of Jersey City, N.J., tells PEOPLE she's used others being "freaked out" or "grossed out" by her heavily pierced ears
After sharing a video with no earrings in, commenters immediately told her how bothered they were by her bare ears
The 32-year-old has a total of 41 ear piercings, and got her first ones while in high school
A woman with dozens of ear piercings is getting a ton of attention online for what her ears look like when she removes her jewelry.
Dylan Marino, 32, of Jersey City, N.J., understands the fascination behind her 41 ear piercings. Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE, the content creator and social media director explains what it's like living with 21 piercings in her left ear, and 20 in her right.
"Almost every video I post where the earring holes are exposed is met with comments of people being freaked out, grossed out, or realizing they have trypophobia," she tells PEOPLE.

"Trypophobia refers to disgust or fear of a pattern of holes," according to the Cleveland Clinic.
Much of Marino's content shows her starting jewelry-free, holes completely visible, as she then piles on the earrings until everything is filled.
"This too much," one person wrote under an Aug. 26 Instagram video. Another added, "This is what my drywall looks like because I refuse to measure."
Some asked questions, such as, "Why people think it's beautiful?"
Others left GIFs of Swiss cheese and facial reactions showing repugnance.
"If I'm being so honest, I kind of get it, so the comments don't bother me much," she says of those who share their disapproval in her comment section. "We live in a weird world now where engagement equates to monetization, so hate comments are paying my bills."
Though Marino has more than 40 ear piercings, she can still remember where it all started.
"I got my first ear piercings in middle school. It was very entry level at that time (classic first and second holes) but in high school I got a helix, mid helix, rook and nose piercing, which was definitely more than a majority of my friends," Marino tells PEOPLE.
One of her more recent videos is a close-up clip of her ear, with numbers edited in to point out each piercing.

"What's 9+10? 21 (piercings) on this left ear of mine," the Oct. 3 post set to Taylor Swift's "The Fate of Ophelia" is captioned.
In between working, maintaining a social life and making content, Marino — who resets her earscape about once a week simply because she's "indecisive" — says she still properly cares for her ears.

"I try to deep clean my earrings and ears at least 1-2 times a week, and usually when that is the case, I'll let my ears breathe for 24 hours. But if I'm leaving the house for an event, I'll typically try and deck out my ears (and make content around it, of course)," she tells PEOPLE.
