Josh Hutcherson comes from an open-minded family.

The *Hunger Games* star recalled his great-grandmother witnessing him film an intimate scene during a conversation with *Variety* at the premiere of his new HBO series, *I Love LA*.

"I've seen some questionable things over the years that my great-grandma has even seen," Hutcherson said. "My great-grandma was on set the day on *Future Man *that we were shooting an orgy. My family can hang."

Hutcherson said that he had invited his great-grandmother to visit him on set before he knew that the group sex sequence was on the schedule for that particular day.

"I didn't realize the day she was coming also lined up with the orgy shoot," he said, noting that he couldn't have dissuaded her from showing up. "She was coming no matter what. She was going to be there. She's a very supportive great-grandma."

The *Bridge to Terabithia* star also clarified that the scene's tone wasn't serious or erotic. "It was comedy. It was comedic," he said. "I was fully, well, not fully clothed."

Hutcherson also remembered his great-grandmother's hilarious reaction to beholding the scene, suggesting that she was not particularly uncomfortable: "You know, it's fiction. Very interesting, your job, Joshua."

Hutcherson previously invoked his great-grandmother during a 2017 appearance on *Jimmy Kimmel Live*, where he revealed that the family matriarch has dominated an annual ugly Christmas sweater competition by knitting her own garments featuring scantily clad male figures in calendar-esque poses.

"She's incredible," he said of his great-grandmother, Helen Fightmaster. "She's the great-grandmother of the family from kind of a more conservative area. She's always pushed liberal, progressive kind of mentality."

Though it's not immediately clear if this is the same great-grandmother that watched him film the orgy scene, Fightmaster's carefree attitude toward explicit material certainly suggests that she's *probably* the same relative who visited Hutcherson on *Future Man*. (Unless Hutcherson has been blessed with more than one extremely chill great-grandma.)

"These are very strong, naked men," Hutcherson observed on *Kimmel*. "She made these, man. Are you kidding me? I want you to picture this woman sitting next to a fireplace, with a glass of bourbon, knitting the crotch, watching *Murder, She Wrote*."
