Demi Moore looked back at her time working with A-list co-star Tom Cruise on their movie A Few Good Men, admitting she thought he was "embarrassed" to work with her because she was pregnant.

While speaking to Jia Tolentino during a Q&A at the New Yorker Festival on Saturday, October 25, Moore, 62, explained she was nearly eight months pregnant when she and Cruise, 63, worked together on the 1992 film.

"I think Tom was quite embarrassed," Moore recalled at the event, per People. "I actually felt okay about it. I was moving around, though, right? But I could tell he felt that it was a bit awkward."

Moore went on to say that she believes Cruise was potentially uncomfortable because many of their Hollywood peers were choosing not to have children at the time, especially because it was a popular misconception that it was difficult to balance motherhood with a successful acting career.

"It's one of the many things, for me, that I just felt didn't make sense. And so I challenged that to say, you know, 'Why not? Why can't you have both?'" she said. "But with that, I think, came a lot of pressure I put on myself to, in a sense, prove that it was possible."

Despite making the claims, Cruise has not publicly responded to Moore's recent comments about their time working together.

Moore was pregnant with her second child, Scout Willis, at the time of filming A Few Good Men. She was already the mother to Rumer Willis, while she and ex-husband Bruce Willis completed their family when they welcomed their third daughter, Tallulah Willis, in 1994.

Based on Aaron Sorkin's 1989 play of the same name, A Few Good Men follows two U.S. Marines dealing with the aftermath of being charged with the murder of a fellow Marine. In addition to Moore and Cruise, the cast also included Jack Nicholson, Kevin Bacon, Kiefer Sutherland and Kevin Pollak.

Also during the conversation, Moore said she became "a bit of an overachiever" while trying to prove that she could be a great working mother.

"I look back at that time now, and I go, 'What the f--k was I thinking?' And what was I even trying to prove? But it wasn't as supported as it is today," Moore said. "You know, to be breastfeeding and then blocking and rehearsing a scene."

After she noted that upcoming actresses won't have to "strive for as much," she said the mothers in the industry are now more "supported" than they once were.

Not only did the St. Elmo's Fire actress feel pressured to prove herself as a working mother, but she also admitted to feeling pressured to get in shape for the movie before she gave birth.

"I was going to be in a military uniform, and probably overly anticipated and started working out and trying to get in shape even before she was born," Moore said. "I did a two-and-a-half-hour hike the day my water broke. I did a 24-mile bike ride, and then was dancing at a reggae club — hence why she came two-and-a-half weeks early."
