'The View' Halloween costume episode canceled for 2nd year in a rowKey Points -
EW has exclusively learned that the cohosts won't dress in costumes for the second year in a row.
The "Boo Are You Wearing?" children's costume segment will still debut Friday.
The cohosts didn't dress in costumes in 2025 due to the presidential election.
That's right: No Marge Simpson or Carl from Up this year, as Entertainment Weekly has learned that The View cohosts will not dress up in Halloween costumes for the second consecutive year.
Following the show foregoing a Halloween costume edition in 2024 due to the holiday's proximity to the contentious presidential election, The View cohosts will again not don costumes as part of the talk show's iconic seasonal episode.
However, the show will still celebrate Halloween, particularly with its "Boo Are You Wearing?" segment that sees the View wardrobe team dress children in costumes inspired by various Hot Topics.

In recent years, The View dressed a child as an Oscar with a red handprint on their face to commemorate the infamous Will Smith Oscars slap, and dressed another kid as the legendary Chinese spy balloon one year later.
EW has reached out to a representative for The View for comment.
Outside of this and last year's episodes, The View cohosts have kept up the tradition of sporting Halloween costumes on the air for many years — dating all the way back to when the late Barbara Walters was still on the panel.
Past costumes that made headlines included Sherri Shepherd as a penny, Meghan McCain as Elsa from Frozen, and Walters herself as Marilyn Monroe.
Last year, Joy Behar spoke about the cohosts opting not to do Halloween costumes on the air with days left to go before Kamala Harris squared off against Donald Trump at the polls.
"It's too important," Behar concluded at the time, in a conversation with producer Brian Teta on the show's companion Behind the Table podcast.

She continued, "I don't mean to be grandiose, but we do have some influence on people's thinking. We need to use every single minute on this show to inform the public about how dangerous [Trump] is."
