- *Boy Meets World *star William Daniels issued a bold statement over President Donald Trump's latest action.

- The 98-year-old actor posted a throwback photo of himself performing for former President Richard Nixon to make his point.

- Trump recently made major changes to the White House.**

Count *Boy Meets World'*s Mr. Feeny as one who opposes President Donald Trump's recent changes to the White House.

Actor William Daniels, 98, who played the character on all seven seasons of the '90s sitcom, expressed a strong opinion on Monday, using his first-hand experience with former President Richard Nixon as a comparison.

"We performed *1776* in the beautiful East Room when Nixon was in the White House," Daniels captioned a throwback photo of himself and two others in costume. "He was very gracious even though none of us had voted for him. The current president has ripped a piece of history from our lives and we mustn't take this lightly."

Trump has demolished the East Wing of the White House, the former location of offices of the first ladies, in order to make space for a planned ballroom that's projected to cost $300 million. He's said that he's making the changes because the East Room, which Daniels mentioned and where entertaining is often done now, is too small.

The move is, of course, dividing Americans, with some people arguing that every president makes changes to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Others insist that history should be preserved.

Comments on the post Daniels made were also mixed.

"I always knew I could trust Mr. Feeny to be on the right side of history," one wrote.

Someone else added, "Of course Mr. Feeny would be on the correct, decent, dignified and sane side of history. That's not a shock at all."

Another chimed with a more critical take, challenging, "What did he rip down? The end of a building erected in the 1940s? Oh our treasured past!!! Spare me the feigned outrage, Feeny."

Perhaps best known for his role on the TGIF show, which ran on ABC from 1993 to 2000, the actor did, in fact, work on the stage from the earliest years of his career. In the 1940s. He portrayed founding father and future president John Adams in both the original Broadway production of and the 1972 film version of *1776*.

In addition to *Boy Meets World*, Daniels's lengthy list of credits includes TV's *Knight Rider* and *St. Elsewhere*, as well as movies such as *The Graduate*, *The Blue Lagoon*, and *Blind Date*.

He's kept in touch with costars from his most famous show over the years.

Earlier this month, he reunited with former *Boy Meets World* costar Danielle Fishel, as she competed on *Dancing With the Stars *with a dance that she dedicated to him while he joined her on stage.**
