Just because Bob Dylan is considered an icon doesn't mean the legendary singer-songwriter didn't have musical heroes of his own. He's often praised such influences as Woody Guthrie and Hank Williams, raving about his favorite artists just as any other fan might. In fact, the loss of one of those cherished musicians left him so devastated he couldn't speak to anyone for days.

It's no secret to longtime Dylan followers that he was completely enamored with Elvis Presley, and even spoke about hearing his music for the first time as a life-changing moment.

"When I first heard Elvis Presley's voice I just knew that I wasn't going to work for anybody and nobody was going to be my boss. Hearing him for the first time was like busting out of jail," Dylan once said, per Untold Dylan.

So it's no surprise that when Presley died in 1977 at the age of 42, Dylan felt the loss deeply.

"I had a breakdown. I broke down. One of the very few times," he said later, per Far Out magazine.

"I went over my whole life…my whole childhood. I didn't talk to anyone for a week after Elvis died," he continued. "If it wasn't for Elvis and Hank Williams, I couldn't be doing what I do today."

Dylan even called Presley's recording of his song "Tomorrow Is a Long Time" the "the one recording I treasure the most" in a 1969 interview with Rolling Stone. Presley also covered several other Dylan songs, including "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright," "I Shall Be Released," and "Blowin' in the Wind."

Why Bob Dylan and Elvis Presley never met

Considering he was such a big fan, one might have expected Dylan to jump at the chance to meet the King of Rock and Roll, but that's not what happened at all.

"I never met Elvis because I didn't want to meet him," Dylan once said, according to American Songwriter. "Two or three times, we were up in Hollywood, and he had sent some of the Memphis Mafia down to where we were to bring us up to see Elvis, but none of us went."

"I don't know if I would have wanted to see Elvis like that," Dylan continued. "I wanted to see the powerful, mystical Elvis that had crash-landed from a burning star onto American soil. The Elvis that was bursting with life. That's the Elvis that inspired us to all the possibilities of life. And that Elvis was gone, had left the building."

Even if Presley's influence over Dylan had waned by then, his legacy remained strong with the folk icon...and still remains part of his work today.

Hollywood dads are welcoming kids later in life.

Some of the industry's biggest stars have become fathers in their 60s, 70s and even 80s – with Al Pacino welcoming the birth of his fourth child in 2023 at 83.

Others, including Robert De Niro and Kelsey Grammer, became fathers again in their 70s.

Here is a list of celebrity dads who welcomed children later in life.

Grammer is just one of many celebrities who became a dad at a later age.

Al Pacino and Noor Alfallah welcomed their son together when he was 83 years old.

Al Pacino welcomed his fourth child, a son named Roman, in June 2023, when he was 83 years old, making him the oldest new dad in Hollywood.

"Al loves being a father and always has. He is excited," a source told People at the time. "Being a parent is and always was an important part of Al's life."

He welcomed Roman with his then-girlfriend Noor Alfallah, but confirmed to People in October 2024 that they had broken up and that he no longer lived with his son.

In addition to Roman, Pacino is also the father of Julie Marie, 36, whom he shares with his ex-girlfriend Jan Tarrant, and twins Anton and Olivia, 24, with ex Beverly D'Angelo.

De Niro and his girlfriend Tiffany Chen welcomed their daughter, Gia, in May 2023.

Robert De Niro revealed he had his seventh baby, a daughter named Gia, during an interview with ET Canada in May 2023. When the interviewer asked how his six children are, De Niro corrected them, saying "Seven, actually," adding, "I just had a baby."

It was later confirmed that Gia was born in April 2023. When speaking about becoming a father again at the premiere of his film, "About My Father," the actor told Extra, "I'm ok with it. I'm good with it."

"[When I] look at her, everything else goes away. So it's a great joy and relief to just be with her in the moment," he later shared with Rolling Stone. "[She is] half-Chinese. I want to try to teach her Chinese and show her nursery rhymes in English and Chinese."

In addition to Gia, whom he shares with girlfriend Tiffany Chen, De Niro is also a father to Drena, 54, and son Raphael, 48, who he shares with his first wife, Diahnne Abbott, twins Julian and Airyn, 30, with his former girlfriend Toukie Smith, and son Elliot, 27, and daughter Helen Grace, 13, with his ex-wife, Grace Hightower.

Jagger welcomed his eighth child in December 2016 at the age of 73. It was his first with Melanie Hamrick.

Mick Jagger's eighth child, son Deveraux, was born in December 2016, when the musician was 73 years old. He shares Deveraux with his girlfriend, Melanie Hamrick.

When speaking with The Guardian in October 2023, Jagger joked that becoming a parent again is "not like riding a bike," adding "you get a bit out of practice." In addition to Deveraux, Jagger is also a father to Karis, 54, whom he shares with Marsha Hunt; Jade, 53, with ex-wife Bianca; Elizabeth, 41, James, 40, Georgia May, 33, and Gabriel, 27, with ex-wife Jerry Hall, and Lucas, 26, with Luciana Morad Gimenez.

"The more children you have, the more laissez-faire you get about them, to be honest," he told the outlet. "And it depends on the child – they have their own personalities and you can mould them to a certain extent, but you see their likes and dislikes and encourage them to do things they gravitate towards. It's fun to have children, at any age."

"But if you're working, and always away, you don't get to enjoy it quite as much," he added, before noting that when Deveraux was born, "I wasn't working so much, so I was able to spend more time. And then we had the lockdown – he's only six, and two of those years I did almost nothing [with the band]."

Katharine McPhee and David Foster welcomed their son Rennie in February 2021.

Grammy Award-winning musician, David Foster, welcomed his fourth child, and only son, Rennie, in February 2021, when he was 71 years old.

When speaking to People in January 2023, Foster opened up about having a son, and addressed criticism from the public about having a child while in his 70s.

"I think that I can offer one thing to Rennie even though I won't be around when he's 50 or 40 even, or 30 maybe," he said. "I think I can offer him wisdom from my 72 years on the planet. And maybe that's not a bad trade-off. I hope so."

Foster shares Rennie with his current wife, Katherine McPhee, and is also a father to Allison, 54, who was adopted at birth; Amy, 51, who he shares with ex-wife, B.J. Cook; and Sara, 43, Erin, 40, and Jordan, 37, who he shares with his second wife, Rebecca Dyer.

Grammer's fourth wife is Kayte Walsh. The two have three children together.

During an appearance on the "Pod Meets World" podcast, Kelsey Grammer shared that he and wife Kayte Walsh recently welcomed their fourth child together — a son named Christopher.

The couple also share Faith, 12, and sons Gabriel, 10, and James, 8. He is also a father to daughter Spencer, 41, with his first wife, Doreen Alderman; daughter Greer, 33, with ex Barrie Buckner; and daughter Mason, 23, and son Jude, 20, with ex Camille Grammer.

News of his new baby comes shortly after the "Frasier" star opened up about his recent realization that he may have "neglected" his older children, telling People in May: "I'm trying to make up for a little of it now. I'm still their dad, so you can always have [a] chance to show up."

"I probably should have been a little more clear and maybe less tolerant with the older ones," he said. "I'm pretty tolerant with the young ones, but I'm clear about how there's certain expectations and certain ways to navigate through a social situation: keep it close to the vest and play it straight, and you're going to be well-served in your life. I'm a little more specific with them about doing their studies and being prepared. [I tell them], 'What's your job in life? Showing up.'"

Richard Gere and wife Alejandra Silva have two young sons together.

Richard Gere and his wife, Alejandra Silva, welcomed their second child together, James, in April 2020, when he was 70 years old. The two also share a 6-year-old son, Alexander.

The "Pretty Woman" actor is also a father to Homer, 25, with his second wife, Carey Lowell, and stepfather to Silva's son Albert from a previous marriage.

Billy Joel and his wife have two daughters. The younger one was born when he was 68.

Billy Joel welcomed his third daughter, Remy Anne, 8, in October 2017 with his fourth wife, Alexis Roderick, when he was 68. He is also father to his and Roderick's older daughter, Della Rose, 10, and his daughter Alexa, 39, who he shares with his ex-wife, model Christie Brinkley.

When speaking with People in July, Joel opened up about his desire to become a father, telling the outlet that being a father "means a lot" to him, adding, "I didn't have a dad, so it was very important for me to be a dad."

"I love all of my girls. And poetic justice, I had all girls, of course, but I'm really enjoying this a lot," he said. "It's something I was looking forward to all my life, and here I am."

Martin and his wife welcomed their first child in December 2012, when he was 67.

Actor Steve Martin became a father for the first time when he was 67 years old, when his wife, writer Anne Stringfield, gave birth to their daughter, Mary, in December 2012.

The "Only Murders in the Building" star spoke with Vanity Fair in November 2016 about what it was like becoming a father later in life, telling the outlet, "it's fantastic."

"You have all the time in the world. You're all set and secure in life, and you're not building your career, so you have a lot of time," he said. "When I was younger, I was selfish and focused on my career… Now I'm just hanging around the house playing with [my daughter]. It's great."

Gavin Adcock took a tumble during his show in Canada.

The country singer was performing his song "Deep End" at a concert on Wednesday, Oct. 29, when he fell off of the stage at Winnipeg's Burton Cummings Theatre, fan-captured footage shared on TikTok shows.

The 27-year-old musician — who was rocking a pair of jeans, a cowboy hat and no shirt — was heading toward stage right, seemingly while carrying a bottle of liquor, just before he took a dive into the audience. The fall occurred as Adcock was climbing down off of the stage and into the crowd at the Winnipeg show.

The Georgia native lost his balance and fell forward into the crowd, where some audience members were awaiting him with their phones recording, and bumped into a piece of equipment in the process. In the fan-shared TikTok, a collective gasp from the crowd followed the incident.

Despite the fumble, however, Adcock recovered without missing a beat.

Just a couple of seconds after falling, the country artist — who lost his hat as a result of the tumble — resumed singing "Deep End," making his way across the barricade to interact with fans.

Adcock also took the fall in stride after the show, reacting to the moment in the comments of the fan's TikTok post, which was captioned, "@GavinAdcockMusic hope you're good after that fall, few too many 🍻."

"It happens 🤙🏻🤙🏻," Adcock wrote in a comment on the fan's video.

Prior to his nosedive at the Winnipeg show, Adcock made headlines not for his onstage performances, but his ongoing feud with fellow country musician Zach Bryan.

In September, the "Last One to Know" singer got into a fight with Bryan, 29, moments before he was set to perform at the Born & Raised Festival in Pryor on Sept. 13, according to footage of the altercation Adcock shared on Instagram.

"Hey, do you want to fight like a man? Come open the gate," Bryan said through a fence to Adcock, who then stepped closer to Bryan, the clip shows. The "Pink Skies" singer then pushed the fence toward Adcock. "When you get death threats from Sack Cryin before you headline in his hometown," Adcock wrote over the video and, in the caption, added, "Eat a Snickers, bro."

Bryan seemingly tried to hop over the fence in an attempt to get to Adcock, but was held back by security, according to another video of the altercation shared on Facebook. A bodyguard then escorted Adcock away, per the same clip.

Adcock also went viral for another music festival incident months earlier.

The singer seemingly called out Nickelback's sound guy in an expletive-laden rant during his July 26 set during Rock the Country, per a fan-captured TikTok.

He later claimed that the sound guy for the "Rockstar" performers — who co-headlined the Anderson, S.C., music festival — had attempted to get his father kicked out.

Can Pat McAfee help Disney prevail over YouTube TV in TV's never-ending carriage wars?

Disney's ESPN said it would make one of its most popular sports telecasts, "College GameDay," widely available via the X social-media platform as the entertainment conglomerate grapples with a blackout of its networks on YouTube TV, one of a growing number of carriage battles traditional entertainment companies are having with the increasingly popular content distributor.

YouTube TV Drops Disney's ABC, ESPN and Other Networks After Two Sides Fail to Reach New Deal

"We understand the frustration that some fans are feeling about missing out, so we are making this gesture with them in mind," Disney said in a statement. ESPN has broadcast "College GameDay" on Saturday mornings during the football season since 1987.

"College GameDay" is one of ESPN's veteran hits, a show that has long enjoyed advertising support from The Home Depot and that has been turbo-charged in recent years by the addition of maverick sports host Pat McAfee. Indeed, on X, the broadcast will appear via McAfee's feed. Fans may also find the telecast at ESPN's mobile app. In both cases, fans can watch the show without having to rely on a subscription to a cable or satellite company, or other means of video distribution, to gain access.

ESPN said on Tuesday that last week's broadcast generated 2.5 million viewers between 9 a.m. and noon, and 3.2 million viewers in its final hour after 12 p.m. The broadcast, ESPN said, was its most-watched ninth-week broadcast ever.

Disney may have hopes of spurring sports fans who are YouTube TV subscribers to find their match-ups in other fashion. ESPN earlier this year launched a new streaming service that makes all the content from its portfolio of channels available to people who don't subscribe in traditional fashion — a reversal after years of trying to get consumers to keep old-school ESPN. Disney also makes content from other networks available on Disney+ and Hulu by various methods.

The economics of sport are no game to companies like Disney. The company and many of its rivals — including NBCUniversal, Amazon Prime Video, Fox, Paramount GLobal and Netflix — are investing increasing amount of money to offer sports more widely and in more prominent fashion. The match-ups represent the one programming format that continues to attract the large, live audiences that advertiser crave in an era when more consumers are gravitating to streaming their video favorites at moments of their own choosing.

YouTube TV removed Disney's networks late on October 30, after the two sides could not come to terms on a renewal that would keep ABC, ESPN and other Disney properties on the internet TV service. The main sticking point is price — Disney is asking for rate hikes that Google isn't willing to agree to. At the same time, Google has been trying to push TV companies to accept new tiers of programming that could result in some subscribers opting to drop receiving certain networks.

YouTube TV has said that if Disney's channels remain unavailable for "an extended period of time," it will offer subscribers a one-time $20 credit. YouTube TV's base subscription plan costs $82.99 per month.

Disney is the latest in a series of media companies to square off with Google over YouTube TV in recent months. Others that have fought with the company include Paramount Global (now Paramount Skydance), Fox Corp. and NBCUniversal. Each of those reached a new deal without a blackout albeit some did so with some frenzied moments as deadlines loomed. YouTube TV dropped Univision and other TelevisaUnivision-owned networks at the end of September after the two sides could not reach a new agreement — and those outlets remain sidelined from the Google service.

Former president Thunderbolt Ross is hulking out at the Trump administration.

Harrison Ford has criticized Donald Trump, slamming the politician's climate policies and announcing that the world is going "to hell" due to the current administration's "hubris" and "lies."

"[He] doesn't have any policies, he has whims," Ford said in a new interview with *The Guardian. *"It scares the s--- out of me. The ignorance, the hubris, the lies, the perfidy."

He added that Trump "knows better" but "he's an instrument of the status quo and he's making money, hand over fist, while the world goes to hell in a handbasket."

He concluded his scathing assessment with his strongest indictment. "It's unbelievable," he said. "I don't know of a greater criminal in history."

Harrison Ford's President Thaddeus Ross in 'Captain America: Brave New World'.

Ford has advocated for environmental protections for decades, having served as the vice chair of Conservation International and appearing in multiple documentaries about climate change.

The *Blade Runner* actor zeroed in on Trump's climate policies, speculating that the president opposes wind turbines only because "he has just not seen a gold one" — a not-so-subtle jab at the president's interior decorating tastes.

Ford also said he thinks history will remember Trump's attitude toward climate change — which the commander in chief called "the greatest con job ever perpetrated on the world" at the United Nations last month — as "a clear expression of ignorance, of hubris and purposeful subterfuge."

Ford played a fictional U.S. president in 1997's *Air Force One*, and also portrayed the president in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in *Captain America: Brave New World* earlier this year. The latter film hit theaters just weeks after Ford had to evacuate his home in Brentwood, Calif., during the Los Angeles wildfires.

"I knew it was coming. I have been preaching this stuff for 30 years," the *Witness* star said of extreme weather events like the wildfires. "Everything we've said about climate change has come true. Why is that not sufficient that it alarms people that they change behaviors? Because of the entrenched status quo."

The Trump administration has consistently worked to reverse environmental regulations. On the first day of his second term, the president signed an executive order to withdraw the United States from the Paris Agreement. He has also advocated to nix renewable energy sources like wind farms, attempted the "biggest deregulatory action in U.S. history" through the Environmental Protection Agency, and called for oil companies to "drill, baby, drill."

Ford, however, told *The Guardian* that he has faith that climate advocates will be able to swing the pendulum back toward stronger protections. "He's losing ground because everything he says is a lie," Ford said of the president. "I'm confident we can mitigate against [climate change], that we can buy time to change behaviors, to create new technologies, to concentrate more fully on implementation of those policies."

He continued, "But we have to develop the political will and intellectual sophistication to realize that we human beings are capable of change. We are incredibly adaptive, we are incredibly inventive. If we concentrate on a problem we can fix it most times."

Heidi Klum has slithered straight into Halloween history.

The self-proclaimed "Queen of Halloween" unveiled her jaw-dropping 2025 costume at her annual New York City bash — transforming into the ultimate mythological monster, Medusa.

Held at the Hard Rock Hotel in Midtown Manhattan, the star-studded "Heidi Halloween Party" drew its usual A-list crowd — but all eyes were on Klum as she emerged in a reptilian, hand-painted bodysuit crowned with a massive headpiece of writhing snakes.

With fangs flashing and a lengthy, serpentine tail trailing behind her, the supermodel was — quite literally — a stone-cold stunner.

Her husband, musician Tom Kaulitz, fully committed to the theme, dressing as the unlucky Greek soldier she turned to stone. Together, the pair made a chillingly cinematic entrance on the blue carpet.

Klum told Variety her inspiration went deeper than shock value. "There still need to be people that create moments with real people… to me, it's like a beautiful art," she said, noting her Medusa transformation was a deliberate statement in an age increasingly dominated by generative AI.

"This is only good for the night," she joked. "Tonight, everything goes down the drain — literally — in the shower."

It took a 15-person team of artists to bring the look to life — hand-painting every scale and sculpting each sinuous detail.

For Klum — who's famously gone as everything from Jessica Rabbit to a full-body Frankenstein's monster and even six versions of herself — the labor-intensive process is all part of the fun.

Last year, the supermodel wowed fans when she transformed into E.T. from Steven Spielberg's 1982 sci-fi classic, "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial."

Her intricate costume was disguised with a black hat, blonde wig and red shawl, while Kaulitz wore a more traditional E.T. getup.

"I can't give too many little hints because I don't want people to know… I really love to have the surprise at the end of the day," Klum shared.

The cover girl said at the time that she prefers to keep her costume a secret — that way, people have lower expectations.

Klum has previously dressed up as an elaborate peacock with dancers to compliment her costume.

"I love for people to see this and think whatever they want to think for the first time when I go on the red carpet," she said. "I never like to share it before, because then people are gonna be like, 'Oh, it wasn't as good as I thought it was gonna be.'"

More of Klum's past showstoppers include the Hindu goddess Kali, Fiona from "Shrek" and the werewolf from Michael Jackson's "Thriller" music video.

Klum has famously dressed up as everything from Jessica Rabbit to Fiona from "Shrek" and even a worm.

In 2022, she transformed into a gigantic worm and admitted her costume was "claustrophobic." Kaulitz was dressed as a fisherman with a bloody eye.

When asked what her favorite costume has been to date, Klum compared her extravagant ensembles to kids.

"They're a little bit like your children — you love them all the same," Klum told Fox News Digital. "I love the worm; it was just so weird," she added.
