9-1-1: Nashville actress Isabelle Tate has died at age 23, shortly after filming her first-ever series role on the ABC drama, her agency announced.

"We are deeply saddened and completely heartbroken to share that Isabelle Tate passed away on October 19," the McCray Agency shared to Instagram over the weekend in a post announcing the rising star's death.

The message continued, referencing Tate's small supporting role in the pilot episode of the spin-off program that debuted on Oct. 9.

"I've known Izzy since she was a teenager and she recently returned to acting," the announcement read. "She booked the first series she auditioned for, 9-1-1 Nashville. She had a wonderful time."

The post thanked the show's casting staffers before offering condolences to Tate's mother.

"My heart goes out to her wonderful mother @katerinataterealtor, her sister Daniella, family and friends. I was so lucky to know her and she will be greatly missed by so many," the caption finished.

A cause of death was not publicly listed, though an obituary for Tate indicates that, in lieu of flowers in Tate's memory, donations should be made in her name to the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association. Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease is a group of "inherited conditions that cause nerve damage," mainly to the arms and legs, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Tate's obituary notes that the young performer was born and raised in Nashville, and graduated from the Middle Tennessee State University, where she studied business.

"Isabelle was full of fire, a fighter, never once making excuses for the fact that she might have a disability relative to others. She was also quite musically inclined, often spending hours writing and recording songs with friends and even publishing a few," reads the obituary. "What she loved the most though was spending time with family and friends, always the life of the party. Her sister was her best friend and her mom was her shining beacon of light."

- The Apple TV hit Shrinking will return for its third season on Jan. 28, 2026.

- Cobie Smulders, who starred opposite Jason Segel on How I Met Your Mother, will return in season 3.

- Jeff Daniels and Michael J. Fox are among the new cast members joining season 3.

You wouldn't expect grieving, healing, and forgiving to be at the center of a laugh-out-loud comedy, but Shrinking's emotional center has resonated with both viewers and Emmy voters.

Created by Bill Lawrence, Brett Goldstein, and Jason Segel, the Apple TV hit has been nominated for seven Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series. It stars Segel as Jimmy, a therapist who unravels after the death of his wife and begins to cross boundaries with his patients. Season 2, which wrapped at the end of 2024, ended with Jimmy taking a major step forward in his grieving process.

So, will there be a third season of Shrinking? When does it premiere? And will the How I Met Your Mother reunion continue with Cobie Smulders' Sofi, who appeared in season 2? Here's everything we know about Shrinking season 3.**

Will there be a season 3 of Shrinking?

Jason Segel as Jimmy and Lukita Maxwell as Alice in 'Shrinking' season 3.

Yes, Shrinking was renewed for a third season in October 2024, just after the premiere of season 2.

"It has been wonderful to watch audiences around the world fall in love with the memorable characters and rich world that Bill, Brett and Jason have created in Shrinking," said Apple TV head Matt Cherniss, who went on to celebrate the show's "moving, heartwarming and very funny journey in season three."**

What happened at the end of Shrinking season 2?

Shrinking S2, E6 Brett Goldstein

Brett Goldstein as Louis in 'Shrinking' season 2.

Beth Dubber/Apple TV+

Season 2 ended with Segel's Jimmy taking a huge step in his healing journey by forgiving Louis (Goldstein), the man responsible for the death of Jimmy's wife in a drunk-driving accident.

Earlier in the season, Louis opened a line of communication with Jimmy's daughter Alice (Lukita Maxwell), to which Jimmy disapproved. Still, Alice meets with him and forgives him. In the finale, overwhelmed with guilt, Louis goes to a train station and contemplates suicide. He reaches out to Alice, but Jimmy arrives instead.

"Alice had found peace in episode 6 where she forgives him and that sets her free," Goldstein told * *following the finale. "The whole story from the end of episode 1 is Jimmy has to free himself and he is in denial the whole season that he's okay. It has to be him for there to be some peace."

'Shrinking' star Jessica Williams was 'weeping' while filming season 3 scene with Harrison Ford

Brett Goldstein recalls 'Shrinking' showrunner not wanting him to play Louis

Elsewhere in the season 2 finale, Paul (Harrison Ford), Jimmy's grumpy colleague, finds comfort and community as he enters into a relationship with Julie (Wendie Malick), the doctor helping him manage his Parkinson's disease.

And Jimmy, too, finds a potential spark with Smulders' Sofi, a recently divorced woman from whom he considers buying a car. "You got to see these little sparks of what pre-accident Jimmy was probably like," Segel told EW of his scene with Smulders, with whom he previously co-starred on* How I Met Your Mother*.

What is Shrinking season 3 about?

Jason Segel as Jimmy and Harrison Ford as Paul in 'Shrinking' season 3

Jason Segel as Jimmy and Harrison Ford as Paul in 'Shrinking' season 3.

Apple TV has yet to release an official Shrinking season 3 synopsis, but Segel discussed his and the creative team's approach on EW's The Awardist podcast.**

"Each season we have a word that is our true north for the theme of the season," he explained. "Season 1 was 'grief,' season 2 was 'forgiveness,' and season 3 — I acknowledge that this is two words — is 'moving forward.'"

That dovetails with remarks the actor and writer made to EW following the season 2 finale. "I would like to see [Jimmy] try to be happy," Segal said. "For Jimmy, he does not feel like he deserves to be happy. So, it would be nice to see Jimmy get to a place where he puts himself first in a way of, 'What would make me happy after all this sadness?'"**

Who's in the Shrinking season 3 cast?

Jessica Williams as Gaby and Damon Wayans Jr. as Derrick in 'Shrinking' season 3

Jessica Williams as Gaby and Damon Wayans Jr. as Derrick in 'Shrinking' season 3.

Segel, Ford, and Maxwell will all return for season 3, as will main cast members Jessica Williams (Gaby), Luke Tennie (Sean), Michael Urie (Brian), Christa Miller (Liz), and Ted McGinley (Derek). Malick will also return as Julie, as will Damon Wayans Jr., who plays the love interest of Williams' Gaby.

As for Smulders? Lawrence confirmed her return in June 2025, telling TVLine that she'll be a key character in "whether or not [Jimmy] can find a way to even imagine himself being happy again."

Goldstein's Louis will also appear in season 3, raising the question of whether his relationship with Jimmy will extend beyond forgiveness. Following the finale, Goldstein told EW he couldn't say "if we'll even see Louis again," but Segel sounded more bullish about the character's return.

"The reason that it was important to me that it be somebody who is a contemporary of Jimmy's is that I wanted looking at Louis to be looking in the mirror," he said. "It's built into the storyline that these guys could have been friends."

The ensemble will continue to grow with the addition of actors Jeff Daniels and Michael J. Fox.

Daniels, the two-time Emmy winner who led HBO's The Newsroom, will join season 3 as Jimmy's father. "That was the most brilliant casting for my dad," Segel told Variety in August 2025. "Because, we're doing very similar stuff. There were moments where in my head I was gonna try to mimic his movements. So I was kind of spying on him during scenes, and I realized we're already doing the same thing."

It's still unclear who Fox will play in season 3, but it's likely that the actor, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1991 and has long been an advocate for Parkinson's research, will share scenes with Ford's Paul, whose Parkinson's diagnosis is key to his character's arc.**

Is there a Shrinking season 3 release date?

After revealing that she'd been diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2021, Christiane Amanpour is managing the disease for a third time.

The CNN news anchor revealed her latest diagnosis during an appearance on the Changing the Ovarian Cancer Story podcast from the World Ovarian Cancer Coalition on Thursday. Amanpour appeared alongside consultant Dr. Angela George, an oncologist in gynecology who guided her through her diagnosis and treatment from the Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer treatment hospital in London.

"I have it again, but it's being very well-managed, and this is one of the whole things that people have to understand about some cancers," Amanpour told host Hannah Vaughan Jones.

Christiane Amanpour

The international journalist recalled sharing her first diagnosis with the world, noting that she broke the news publicly because people were asking where she was after being off the air for a month.

"I decided when I got back in front of the camera after four weeks — which included the surgery and a couple of weeks of recuperation before I started chemotherapy — I decided to say something because I actually wanted to do a service," Amanpour explained, adding, "Not just to my viewers, but also to those who might be in a similar situation. And I wanted to say what had happened to me. And I wanted to say listen to your body because part of the reason I got such quick care was because I listened to my body and went straight to the doctors."

George told Jones that by the time most women get diagnosed, they will "have often been going back and forth to the GP for sometimes a year or so with abdominal symptoms and it often gets misdiagnosed as reflux or indigestion, urinary tract infections."

"Most women, by the time they get a diagnosis, might have had the cancer for three or four years before it actually gets diagnosed," George added. "And that's why most of the women that we see are actually diagnosed with late-stage ovarian cancer, because it doesn't have a lot of specific symptoms that people can pick up on and it does tend to be misdiagnosed for quite a long time."

Amanpour shared that her situation is different since she has a "fairly rare" kind of ovarian cancer, which was diagnosed as "stage 1/2," as her cancer was in its first stage but had "adhered to my pelvis."

"Angela told me what it was and why I was potentially lucky because there were actually pain symptoms," the journalist added. "There's often no symptoms so many women don't know, so I feel that I was lucky."

When Amanpour announced her first diagnosis in May 2021, she had major surgery 10 days later, followed by 18 weeks of chemotherapy. She was back to reporting in the field within six months after completing chemotherapy, a feat she credits to her community, including her 25-year-old son Darius John, whom she shares with her ex-husband, former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State James Rubin.

"I've never actually asked for help before. And when I did, I got it," Amanpour told Jones, tearing up as she spoke. "[From] my family, from my friends, from my colleagues, from everybody. And it was really, well, it was touching, but it was really helpful, really amazing."

She added that the encouragement from her loved ones "sustained" her when it felt like her cancer was also affecting her state of mind. "To have all these people who just literally every day were asking me how I was, how they could help, visiting and giving me things... the community is actually vital," she emphasized. "Absolutely vital. And I'm just so very lucky that I had that."

"I got a lot of support from all over the world, and it was really incredibly helpful for me," Amanpour added. "Absolutely."

Robert Irwin took a brief pause from his Dancing With the Stars updates to share a heartfelt reflection about his father, Steve Irwin.

Following the death of The Crocodile Hunter star in 2006, the 21-year-old and his sister Bindi Irwin along with their mother Terri Irwin carried on the legacy and passion their late father left behind.

In his latest Instagram post, the wildlife photographer shared a touching and deeply emotional message for his father with a promise to continue his mission to protect wildlife and inspire future generations.

"To continue this legacy is the honour of my life. If I can make my dad proud, I've done my job. Behind everything I do is a conservation mission that my dad started," he wrote.

The post was accompanied by a throwback video of the legendary conservationist and TV host becoming emotional as he talked about his family and his love for wildlife.

"If there's anything in this world that would wanna make me give away what I'm doing now? Yes, there is," he said, adding, "When my children can take the football that I call wildlife conservation and run it up. When they're ready to run up our mission, I will gladly step aside. I guarantee you it'll be the proudest moment of my life and my job will be done.

Moreover, he added that if this happens, he'll know he has achieved his ultimate goal.

True enough, Steve Irwin's mission lives on as both of his children followed in his footsteps and have been working together to continue the legacy of Australia Zoo, owned by the Irwin family.

On the other hand, his post became a touching moment that resonated deeply on social media.

"Your dad has been so proud of you since the day you were born. You are his legacy," one wrote.

"You've done everyone proud, Robert. There is no greater man," a second user noted.

Meanwhile, the tribute moved many to tears as it echoed the deep bond and promise he made to his late father.

"Jesus Christ, Robert! Can you give us one day to not cry?!?!?" a commenter added.

"Crying for real. Wow. Absolutely tender and precious. An amazing man! You are carrying it on Robert!" another echoed.

Shakira is backing Bad Bunny as the next Super Bowl halftime show performer.

The "She Wolf" singer, who headlined the big game performance herself alongside Jennifer Lopez in 2020, expressed her support for the NFL's decision to tap the "DtMF" superstar for the 2026 Super Bowl.

"It's about time!" Shakira told Variety when asked for her thoughts on Bad Bunny's hiring. "I remember when we did ours that even having part of our set in Spanish was a bold move… Acceptance of Spanish-language music as part of the mainstream has come so far from when I started."

The "Hips Don't Lie" singer also suggested that the conservative backlash to Bad Bunny's upcoming set might pave the way for eventual acceptance. "I hope and like to think that all the times my music was met with resistance or puzzlement from the English-speaking world before it was embraced, helped forge the path to where we are now," she said.

Bad Bunny previously performed during Shakira's set at the 2020 Super Bowl. The two artists sang "I Like It" (Cardi B's song that featured a guest verse from Bad Bunny on the original recording) and Shakira's "Chantaje" before Lopez took the stage.

Elsewhere in the Variety interview, Shakira noted that Bad Bunny's ascension signifies the rise of Spanish-language pop around the world. "I'm so proud that Bad Bunny, who represents not only Latin culture but also how important Spanish language music has become on a global scale and how universal it has become, is getting to perform on the biggest stage in the world," she said. "It's the perfect moment for a performance like this. I can't wait to watch it."

Earlier this week, a petition to replace Bad Bunny with George Strait at the halftime show reached 50,000 signatures on Change.org. Charlie Kirk's organization, Turning Point USA, also announced that it will produce an "All American Halftime Show" as an alternative to Bad Bunny's set (despite the fact that Bad Bunny is American, as Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory).

However, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell defended the league's decision to hire Bad Bunny on Wednesday, noting that he's "confident it's going to be a great show" in February.

"I'm not sure we've ever selected an artist where we didn't have some blowback or criticism," Goodell said at the NFL's fall meeting. "He understands the platform that he's on."

He added, "I think it's going to be exciting and a united moment."

Jenna Bush Hager is remembering the time she escaped the Secret Service in order to meet up with her secret boyfriend.

The 43-year-old Today anchor brought up her great escape during a conversation with cohost Savannah Guthrie about whether or not they'd ever done the walk of shame on Thursday's episode of Jenna & Friends.

"I had Secret Service, so I would be kind of embarrassed," Hager, who is the daughter of former President George W. Bush, said when discussing the practice on the show. "And I hesitate even saying this, but I dated a football player at Texas for a brief time and I was embarrassed that the Secret Service would know that — I don't know why, but I was."

She quickly clarified that the football player didn't do anything wrong, it was just that she "didn't want [the Secret Service] to know I had a new boyfriend because senior year was... active for me."

"Lots of walks of shame," Guthrie teased, to which Hager quipped back, "Lots and lots of them!"

So, naturally, she had to concoct some inventive ways in order to escape her security detail to see him. "I had my friends sneak me," Hager said. "I was in the back of the car and they snuck me past the Secret Service. I've never told this!"

Guthrie was shocked by her cohost's casual revelation. "Wait a minute. You snuck out from the Secret Service?" she asked as Hager nodded. "So they thought you were home in bed reading the Bible or whatever and you were at the football player's house?"

"Yes, I was," Hager confessed. Guthrie, in response, immediately requested a high five and added, "That's my girl!"

Hager, however, quickly clarified, "It was the only time I ever escaped them and then we broke up soon after!"

Hager was a freshman at the University of Texas at Austin when her dad was elected president of the United States in 2000. Last December, she revealed that her college roommates took her on a spontaneous trip to Mexico to celebrate her "last weekend of freedom" before she received Secret Service detail.

"It used to be safer, but I drove across the border to Acuña, Mexico," she recalled at the time. "It was legal to drink there, so it felt safer. There was a bar with a slide, that's all I remember."

Looking up to the sky, a laughing Hager continued, "Thank God I'm alive. Thank you, God."

While it didn't work out with her football boyfriend, Hager has since found love and started her own family with husband Henry Chase Hager, whom she married in 2008. The couple shares three children together: daughters Mila and Poppy and son Hal.

GOYANG, South Korea (AP) — Canada's Brooke Henderson and Wei-Ling Hsu of Taiwan beat Sweden's Madelene Sagstrom and Ingrid Lindblad 4 and 3 Saturday to qualify the World team for the International Crown semifinals.

The win gave the World team its fourth point in Pool B from two wins and two ties in the LPGA team event at the New Korea Country Club.

In later matches, the World team's Charley Hull and Lydia Ko played Maja Stark and Linn Grant of Sweden.

Also, Japan played South Korea and the U.S. took on Australia in other fourball matches.

Going into Saturday's final round of fourball matches, the United States had already qualified for the semifinals from Pool A with wins in its first four fourball matches.

On Friday, Americans Yealimi Noh and Angel Yin beat Thitikul and Pajaree Anannarukarn 5 and 4, handing Thitikul her first loss after six consecutive match wins in the event. Lilia Vu and Lauren Coughlin later won the second fourball match for the Americans, beating Chanettee Wannasaen and Jasmine Suwannapura 3 and 2.

Under the tournament format, seven countries and a "rest of the world" team compete in two pools. The teams and their players were determined by the women's world ranking.

The top two countries from each pool advance to Sunday's semifinals and final that consists of one foursomes (alternate shot) and two singles matches.

Last week Sei Young Kim won the BMW Ladies Championship, also in South Korea. The LPGA's Asian swing continues in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia next week and concludes in Shiga, Japan from Nov. 6-9.
