(Reuters) -Cisco Systems launched a computing device on Monday that will run artificial intelligence workloads at local entities such as retail stores, factory floors and healthcare facilities, speeding up their AI data processing capabilities.

The new platform, named "Cisco Unified Edge," is an attempt to bring AI infrastructure closer to where the data is created - on shop and factory floors, for example - as traditional data centers become overburdened with complex commands, especially as agentic and reasoning models drive up network traffic.

The Cisco platform features an Intel chip and has seen an early adopter in Verizon. It is expected to be generally available by the end of the year.

Tech firms have committed tens of billions of dollars to expand their data center operations to accommodate the soaring use of AI models.

"As AI agents and experiences proliferate, they will naturally emerge closer to where customers interact and decisions are made – the branch office, retail store, factory floor, stadium, and more," said Cisco's Chief Product Officer Jeetu Patel.

The Costco return policy is known for being customer-friendly and protective of its shoppers. For example, most items can be returned without question for a full refund. This includes many popular purchases if you are not feeling the store's promised 100% satisfaction guarantee.

For You: 9 Low-Effort Ways To Make Passive Income (You Can Start This Week)

However, that doesn't mean just anything you buy can be brought back in for your money back. Here are several items Costco won't let you return.

Trending Now: Suze Orman's Secret to a Wealthy Retirement--Have You Made This Money Move?

Cigarettes and Alcohol

You can indulge your vices at Costco quite easily, but don't expect to be able to return cigarettes and alcohol. Not only is this against store policy, but Costco also does not accept returns on cigarettes or alcohol because it is often prohibited by law based on location.

Consider This: Will Dollar Tree's $20 Items Change Your Spending?

Tires

Tires might seem like a perfectly reasonable item to return, but much like shoes, once you take them out for a spin, they're yours. This is because they are no longer viable, as even a little bit of use enacts wear and tear.

So do your research before you buy tires to make sure you've got the correct ones for your car, because Costco won't take them back. In general, products with a limited useful life expectancy, such as tires and batteries, may be sold with a product-specific limited warranty.

Batteries

Speaking of batteries, though they power a variety of items in your home or office, it doesn't mean you recharge your card if you are unhappy with the purchase. Simply put, batteries don't last forever, and unless you have the original packaging, it's almost impossible to tell the age of a battery, and Costco doesn't want to resell duds.

Costco doesn't bother risking it — you can't bring these back. As a Costco customer, make sure to purchase product-specific warranties to cover purchases that come with batteries, so you're covered if there's a problem.

Paper Products

It should be pretty obvious that toilet paper and paper towels, items that interact with people's bodies, are not a welcome item for return. However, since people buy these items in bulk, they may think they can return the unused portions. Alas, Costco doesn't want your extra paper products. If you have too much, donate them to a shelter or a school instead.

Rotten Food (or Any Perishable Items)

What seems obvious to some people is clearly not to others, as more than once a customer has tried to return food that has spoiled at Costco. Not food they discovered was rotten immediately after purchase, either, but food they let rot at home — such as old stinky salmon and a moldy bag of oranges.

Don't be that person who makes the Costco employees question whether you have common sense. Yes, food costs are skyrocketing thanks to tariffs and economic volatility, but unfortunately, sometimes life just gives you rotten lemons.

Used Underwear

Some things really shouldn't have to be spelled out. You may be able to return some used items, but logic and common courtesy should be enough to know that used underwear is not among them. Yet that's what someone reportedly tried to do once — with a 7-year-old pair!

Soap

It's natural to be picky about the kind of soap you use, as soaps can vary in texture, viscosity, scent and more. What may look great in the packaging may smell or feel weird when you finally get it home and try it out.

Nevertheless, Costco isn't too concerned about your soap preferences. If you bought it, you keep it; no returns allowed.

Diamonds, One Carat or Larger

While Costco does have a 90-day jewelry return policy, so long as the jewelry is in good condition, there is one exception. If you want to return diamonds larger than one carat, you need to have all the paperwork it came with, and your receipt, or it's a no-go. Even then, you only get store credit, not a full refund, so purchase your bling wisely.

According to Costco's return policy, "Members returning a diamond over 1.00ct must also present all original paperwork (IGI and/or GIA certificates) at which time they will receive a Jewelry Credit Memo. Within 48 hours, our Costco Graduate Gemologist will inspect for authenticity."

Final Take To GO: Costco's Return Policy

In general, Costco's customer service offers a generous return policy that comes with a 100% satisfaction guarantee on most items if returned within 90 days. It allows returns anytime with a few exceptions, including non-refundable items like gift cards and cigarettes.

You can return items to any warehouse with your membership card, and while a receipt helps, it's often not necessary since purchases are tracked on your account. Online purchases can also be returned in-store or online via your Costco account.

Microsoft has entered into a $9.7 billion cloud services contract with artificial intelligence cloud service provider IREN that will give it access to some of Nvidia's chips.

The five-year deal, which includes a 20% prepayment, will help Microsoft as it looks to keep up with AI demand. Last week the software maker reported its quarterly sales grew 18% to $77.7 billion, beating Wall Street expectations while also surprising some investors with the huge amounts of money it is spending to expand its cloud computing infrastructure and address the growing need for AI tools.

Microsoft spent nearly $35 billion in the July-September quarter on capital expenditures to support AI and cloud demand, nearly half of that on computer chips and much of the rest related to data center real estate.

"IREN's expertise in building and operating a fully integrated AI cloud — from data centers to GPU stack — combined with their secured power capacity makes them a strategic partner," Jonathan Tinter, president of business development and ventures at Microsoft, said in a statement. "This collaboration unlocks new growth opportunities for both companies and the customers we serve."

Microsoft also announced new deal with OpenAI last week that pushed the Redmond, Washington, company to $4 trillion in valuation for the second time this year. The agreement gives the software giant a roughly 27% stake in OpenAI's new for-profit corporation but changes some of the details of their close partnership. Microsoft's $135 billion stake will be just ahead of the OpenAI nonprofit's $130 billion stake in the for-profit company.

IREN also said Monday that it signed a deal with Dell Technologies to buy the chips and ancillary equipment for about $5.8 billion. The Australian company anticipates the chips being deployed in phases through next year at its Childress, Texas campus.

Shares of IREN jumped 22% before the opening bell in the U.S. Shares of Microsoft rose slightly,.

Pat Boone shared a rare photo of himself and his daughters. On Nov. 2, the legendary singer posted to Instagram after spending the day with his daughters Cherry Lynn, Linda Lee, Debby, and Laury. The famous clan posed on the stairway of their longtime family home in Beverly Hills, with Papa Boone, 91, all smiles right in front.

"My four beautiful daughters came for a visit today to the house we've called home for 65 years," Boone captioned the photo. "Lots of stories, memories, and laughter. I'm a very proud daddy."

Fans and famous friends reacted to the post in the comment section, with one describing the photo as a "very special Daddy, Daughters picture." Others told Boone how "blessed" he was.

"Beautiful family ❤️❤️❤️," wrote pal Nancy Sinatra.

Boone married his wife, Shirley Foley, in 1953, and they welcomed their four daughters between 1954 and 1960. Shirley died at home in 2019 at age 84, surrounded by her family, according to People magazine.

Boone has been outspoken about his family life and how strict he was when he raised his daughters in the 1960s and '70s. In June, he shared a Facebook post for Father's Day as he looked back on his life as a dad of four girls and the set of "rules" he created when they were teenagers.

"Father's Day brings up a lot of memories," he wrote. "Imagine raising four teenage daughters at once! That's when we started the Pat Boone Family Act, so I could keep an eye on them, and we could sing together as a family."

"I'll never forget when we were on the Merv Griffin Show," the singer added. "He asked my girls what I was strictest about. One of them said, 'Respect.' The audience actually applauded. Cherry, our oldest, later said, 'Yes, we're missing out. We're missing out on trouble.' That moment stayed with me. I'm proud of that. I'm thankful for the home Shirley and I built and the values we shared with our girls."

In a 2024 interview with Baltimore Media Blog, Boone's daughter Debby—the most famous of the four sisters due to her 1977 hit song "You Light Up My Life"— revealed that her parents' "mission" was to keep their childhoods "as normal as possible."

When asked how she stayed "grounded" after having a massive solo hit when she was still a teenager, Debby told Closer Weekly, "Well, I was still living at home. My mom would say, 'You haven't cleaned the cat box in four days. Get upstairs.'"

(Reuters) -Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said Monday the Trump administration would shutter the U.S. aviation system if he thought an ongoing government shutdown was making it unsafe to travel.

"If we thought that it was unsafe... we'll shut the whole airspace down. We won't let people travel. We're not there at this point. It's just significant delays," Duffy told CNBC, adding "absolutely there's more risk" during the ongoing shutdown.

Princess Kate Middleton's hidden hobby — and the way the royal spends her free time — is bringing authenticity and resilience to her public image, royal experts told Fox News Digital.

"Princess Catherine has many surprising hobbies and the majority of these align with her love for the great outdoors," royal expert Helena Chard told Fox News Digital. Kate has taken up the newest hobby of meditation, reportedly under the guidance of renowned photographer, Chris Levine.

"Princess Catherine says the practice can be just as beneficial as medication," Chard noted. "Meditation gives her balance and peace and is a winner when it comes to overcoming anxiety."

Kate's outdoors approach has been characterized as a "rural renaissance," royal expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News Digital. "Her regular normal Britishness of her treasuring traditions rooted in the wholesomeness of the countryside render her even more appealing to middle-class families as well as rural voters who grew up with such authenticity and resilience."

Prince Philip Gave Kate Middleton Blunt Warning About Surviving Royal Life

Kate Middleton's hidden hobby and how she spends her time make her the most relatable royal, experts say.

"It's this most genuine sincerity, versus the seeking of status, that add to her overall appeal, reflected in YouGov polls with her being the most popular royal after Prince William," she added.

Read On The Fox News App

Although her connection to nature isn't new, royal commentator Amanda Matta told Fox News Digital it has become "more central" to the princess' public image in the last year.

"Framing time outdoors as her 'hobby' works because it's so accessible. Who can't achieve a walk in the woods?"

"It reinforces the idea of Kate as grounded and relatable, someone who genuinely enjoys the same simple pleasures as the rest of us," Matta added.

Prince William And Kate Middleton's Big Move Forces Two Families Out Of Their Homes

Princess Kate, Prince William and Prince Harry take part in a race during a training day for the Heads Together team for the London Marathon at Olympic Park on February 5, 2017.

Princess Kate also dabbles in a handful of additional hobbies – including sports.

"As far as other hobbies, I think people forget that Kate is genuinely sporty," Matta told Fox News Digital. "She's biked, windsurfed, rock-climbed, and gone abseiling in front of the cameras. There are also sweet stories about her playing rugby with her kids in the garden at Anmer Hall and going paddleboarding nearby."

"She once shared that her children's happiest moments are outdoors, whether it's catching tadpoles or baking in the garden, and that really encapsulates her priorities," Matta added. "She's the mom who would rather see her kids in muddy clothes than get too much screen time, as she recently referenced in her Center for Early Childhood essay on the 'epidemic of disconnection.'"

Kate has turned her royal duties into "something more human," according to Matta.

"Whether it's gardening at a charity visit or bug hunting alongside students, she makes engagements feel natural instead of ceremonial," the royal expert explained. "After a year defined by cancer recovery, Kate clearly wants to project groundedness and perspective. The outdoor imagery we keep seeing says a lot in that regard. It's a visual language of revitalization. Nature has become her shorthand for strength."

Kate Middleton takes part in a Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team abseiling training exercise on April 27, 2023, in Wales.

The princess revealed her cancer diagnosis in March 2024 and confirmed she was undergoing chemotherapy at the time.

By January 2025, the Princess of Wales was in remission.

"It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focused on recovery," she wrote in a statement shared on social media. "As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your continued support."

Another reported passion for the princess is weightlifting "to strengthen her body core," royal expert and former royal photographer Ian Pelham Turner told Fox News Digital — a must after her cancer recovery.

Prince William believes one of his wife's hobbies is the "craziest of them all." Apparently, Princess Kate enjoys swimming in extremely cold streams and pools in the dark.

"Kate thinks this is totally invigorating," Pelham Turner said.

"Prince William thinks she is amusing and slightly bonkers as she searches for cold water, even in rainy darkness," Chard confirmed. "It gives her a real mood boost."

Princess Kate Middleton is well liked by the British public.

Princess Kate's "down-to-earth personality" along with her collaborative, friendly and caring approach to life has given her a good position with the public.

"Catherine's positive attitude as she carries out Royal business, her early years work with passion, duty, commitment and hard work all with a bright smile is commendable," Chard noted.

"The future of the monarchy is bright with Princess Catherine and her husband at the helm and this is the news we should be shouting from the rooftops."

Prince William is concerned that his children may not have the same opportunities that he had unless drastic changes are made to safeguard the environment.

The Prince of Wales, 43, shares three children — Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7 — with his wife, Princess Kate. While speaking to HELLO! ahead of this week's Earthshot Prize ceremony, he revealed that it is concerns for his children's future that drive him to keep working on the global initiative to tackle the planet's most pressing environmental challenges.

"As a father, I think constantly about the world my children will inherit," Prince William told HELLO! in their Nov. 4 issue. "I want them to grow up surrounded by nature, opportunity, and a sense of hope about the future.

"But I also know that unless we act boldly now, that future is at risk," he added.

*Days of Our Lives* star Suzanne Rogers has opened up about her cancer diagnosis.

The soap opera veteran, who has spent more than five decades playing farm girl–turned–shrewd businesswoman Maggie Horton, recently revealed her cancer battle during a conversation with TV Insider. Rogers, 82, learned the news earlier this year upon realizing that something "wasn't quite right" with her body. After a series of tests, including an MRI, a PET scan, and a biopsy, the actress was diagnosed with stage 2 colorectal cancer.

"[My doctor] said, 'You have cancer and you have to start treatment.' It was all a shock," Rogers recalled. "I think I was in a shock for several days because I take pretty good care of myself. But he said, 'It's a good thing you caught it in time.'"

After wrapping shooting on *Days* in June, Rogers began a treatment plan that entailed daily radiation and chemo every day for six weeks. The actress noted that the show taking a summer hiatus worked in her favor, since she didn't have to be conspicuously absent from set. But while she kept the battle private from her fans, Rogers leaned on her* Days of Our Lives* family for support.

"It was scary," she said. "When I had to go see a doctor, one of [my costars] would go with me because you get to a point where once they say cancer, you don't hear anything else."

Rogers said she felt especially supported by Linsey Godfrey, who plays her onscreen daughter, Sarah Horton, a cancer survivor who was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma at 18.

"I had to have an infusion, and it takes about an hour and a half, so Linsey sat there with me and held my hand while I was having it," Rogers recalled. "We would go out to lunch or dinner with Paul Telfer [who plays Xander Kiriakis] and Linsey's daughter, Aleda. I knew I could count on them, so it was a lovely experience on and off the set. We really feel like a family."

Rogers completed treatment on July 31 and is now preparing for her return to set.

A spokesperson for* Days of Our Lives *assured* * that her absence from the show will be minimal. "We are delighted that Suzanne has come through this challenge with her trademark grace and strength," the spokesperson said. "Fans will be glad to know that Maggie will remain a constant presence in Salem."

Rogers, who is the longest-running actor on an American soap, said she is "feeling really good" about her return to the show. Though she is coping with some nerves, she said it's the same anxiety she feels "any time I get scripts because I want to do my very best," clarifying that it has nothing to do with her illness.

Elsewhere in her interview with TV Insider, Rogers assured fans that they have nothing to worry about when it comes to Maggie's signature red locks. "I didn't lose my hair," she said. "I guess because I was taking the chemo pills. I'm sure there'll be people that are saying, 'Well, she didn't really have cancer,' but you know what? I really don't care what people say. I know what I've gone through, and I've come out on the other side, so that's all I care about."

Rogers went on to express some relief over finally sharing her struggle and diagnosis, noting that she's well aware that her absence has sparked speculation about her future on the daytime soap.

"My sister, who checks in with me two or three times a day, said there's been some things on Facebook that said that I had retired and I had left the show," she said. "None of that is true. I don't want to upset anybody, but I want them to know what's going on."

Indeed, rumors had been swirling about Rogers' potential retirement, but a spokesperson for *Days of Our Lives* shut down the speculation this past summer.

"This could not be further from the truth," a representative for the show told EW in July. "Maggie and Suzanne are integral to the show's history, present storylines, and now, on the heels of our pickup, the future! Neither are going anywhere."

Rogers has been a core member of the *Days of Our Lives *cast since 1973, when she first appeared as a farm girl recovering from a car accident that killed her parents. Maggie has come a long way since then, overcoming paralysis, addiction, and even her own "murder" over the course of Rogers' 52 years on the show. The character's struggles with sobriety helped Rogers earn a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 1979.

The most recent season saw Maggie helping her daughter Sarah pick up the pieces of her life after an acrimonious divorce from Xander. *Days of Our Lives*, which originally premiered in 1965, is set to celebrate its 60th anniversary this November. Earlier this year, Peacock announced that *Days* has been picked up for two more seasons.**

Elaine Hendrix is gearing up for her return to the *Dancing With the Stars* ballroom after being carried out of rehearsals on a stretcher with a rib injury on Tuesday.

The *Parent Trap *star posted a video to her Instagram page on Wednesday, which showed her alongside pro partner Alan Bersten.

"Hi everyone, doing a check-in to let you know that I'm doing okay," Hendrix began in the video. "I am up and about, I'm tender, I am sore, but I am starting pain management today."

"I'm not dancing today, I'm not dancing tomorrow," Hendrix continued as Bersten nodded in encouragement. "We'll be back at it Friday. And I'm just getting ready to be in that ballroom next Tuesday."

Bersten chimed in, sharing the pair's gratitude for their fans' fervent support during Hendrix's hospitalization.

"We just wanted to say thank you so much for voting for us, and show so much love to Elaine and the support," he said. "We can feel it and we appreciate it so much."

"Yeah, it's palpable," Hendrix gushed. "All of your messages, I'm seeing it all, and I just want you to know that first and foremost, I'm okay, and second of all, I'm ready to go and just thank you so much for all the love and support that you're showing and thank you to the entire Dancing with the Stars team. You're taking such good care of me. So we will see you next Tuesday out on the ballroom."

Bertsten concluded the video with another message of love for the fans, saying, "We love you guys, thank you."

Hendrix previously explained that she injured her ribs during the pair's "Defying Gravity" routine. She and Bersten danced to the climactic song from the hit stage musical and now-Academy Award-nominated film series during last week's "Wicked Night," during which they received a 36 for their efforts.

While Hendrix made a stunning visual recreating the stage musical's showstopping trick of soaring into the air via wires and pullies, the move didn't fare well for her when she came down to Earth.

"I injured my ribs during 'Defying Gravity,' and today they just seized up and I couldn't move," Hendrix explained to fans in a video addressing her absence. She further shared that her doctor assured her that "with a day or two of rest, I should be able to return."

A video from rehearsals prior to Hendrix's injury showed Hendrix and Bersten working on their Argentine tango for the show's Halloween Night, showing the moment in which "all the sudden, Elaine kind of throws, and she can't move and can't breathe and something happened with her rib," Bersten explained.

During Tuesday's live episode, Bersten represented the pair in the ballroom for their *Mad Max: Fury Road-*inspired routine, and they were judged on their rehearsal. All four judges — Cheryl Burke was a guest judge — awarded the duo 8s for a total of 32.

With the pair surviving this week's eliminations, they're set to return to the show next week.

*Dancing With the Stars* airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC and Disney+, and streams the next day on Hulu.**

- Famke Janssen is now, basically, a pop star, having recorded a professional single and music video for the Dutch Netflix drama *Amsterdam Empire*.

- The actress talks about how "tough" it was to train in singing and dancing to pull it off.

- "Betty is so unapologetically who she is," she says of her character.

"Pour toujours, pour toujours / Forever pour toujours." The song is such an earworm, you'll likely hum it to yourself in the days after watching Netflix's *Amsterdam Empire*, a new Dutch drama starring Famke Janssen.

The actress of *X-Men*, *Taken*, and *GoldenEye* portrays Betty Jonkers, marking her first time acting in Dutch since leaving the Netherlands to pursue modeling in her teens. Story wise, this ex-pop diva is out to steal her former husband's thriving marijuana coffee shop business after he left her for a younger woman he impregnated.

Among Betty's claims to fame is a hit 1990s single called "Forever Pour Toujours." Janssen and Netherlands-based musician Palmbomen (a.k.a. Kai Hugo) professionally recorded and released the song through Netflix music. The star then also shot a music video.

"Isn't it so catchy? It's hilarious, I know," Janssen tells **. "While we were filming, I was being trained for singing and dancing to make the video. And I kept pushing it, going, 'I'm so busy. Can we do it at the end of the shoot?' I thought, 'I need more time.' I love to dance. Trust me, it's one of my hobbies, but I've never been trained."

Betty Jonkers (Famke Janssen) rolls up to the Amsterdam Music Awards on 'Amsterdam Empire'.

She also doesn't consider herself a professional singer, even though "Forever Pour Toujours" is now on Apple Music and Spotify. She remembers, however, singing karaoke with the cast of *X-Men*, including James Marsden, who played Cyclops to her Jean Grey and previously commented on his costar's "beautiful" singing voice.

Janssen remembers being in Tokyo with Marsden and his wife, Lisa Linde, where they would hit the karaoke bars. "I'm not speaking out of turn, she knew this: She had a terrible voice, he had the most incredible voice," she recalls. "They would do duets together and stuff like that. It was hilarious. But I've always been incredibly intimidated by singing."

She worked with choreographer Vincent Vianen, whom she describes as "meticulous" with the '90s-inspired movements. "It was tough. He had to be tough on me and he had to be very strict and firm," Janssen says. "I practiced. All day, whenever I was on set, people would see me in the background doing small moves."

The Running Man was one such dance move she had to learn, since the video took inspiration from '90s hip-hop. "We started doing it on a slower speed in the beginning," she remembers. "Just try to do the Running Man. Do it at normal speed and then do it at the speed of the song ["Forever Pour Toujours"]. It was a challenge, but I did it."

Famke Janssen in Amsterdam Empire

The tone of *Amsterdam Empire* is an enjoyable concoction of *Breaking Bad*-esque drama (instead of blue meth, it's weed) but also *Real Housewives*-level camp. In one of her more soapy, theatrical moments, Janssen's Betty arrives by boat to the Amsterdam Music Awards to upend a big work moment for her ex's new lover.

Nico Moolenaar, Bart Uytdenhouwen, and Piet Matthys created *Amsterdam Empire*, which Janssen also executive produces with Moolenaar. She says they were very specific in terms of the sought-after vibe. Janssen saw the character as a celebrity who believes music was a big part of her life once upon a time, even though it was a relatively small component in reality.

"Betty is so unapologetically who she is," Janssen describes, "claiming space, asking for attention, dressing big, all of that. It's not at all the way I am in life. Just because of the fact that she was this one-hit wonder and she can't quite let go of it, there is that larger-than-life campy aspect to her personality, but I wanted to ground it in reality."

Technically, Betty isn't a one-hit wonder. Janssen confirms she recorded multiple songs for *Amsterdam Empire*. "They kept throwing things at me, like, 'Did you wanna go to the studio?' And I go, 'Sure! Let's do it.'"

Look out for that album release!

*Amsterdam Empire* is available now on Netfllix.**

Stranger Things: The First Shadow image

The creators of *Stranger Things* have openly teased how the story of the Broadway production, subtitled *The First Shadow*, will tie into the show's fifth and final season. But the Duffer Brothers now share how they had to prevent the play's producers from including any material that might spoil too much of what they were already planning for TV.

"We really dive into Henry's backstory before he arrived at Hawkins lab," Matt Duffer tells ** in an interview with his brother, Ross Duffer. "We definitely explore more about Henry because so much of the show does revolve around Vecna and his relationship with Will [Noah Schnapp's character]."

Ross adds, "In this season, we go back even prior to that, and so the Broadway show sort of becomes this little connective tissue between the seasons itself."

STRANGER THINGS: SEASON 5. (L to R) Joe Keery as Steve Harrington, Natalia Dyer as Nancy Wheeler, Charlie Heaton as Jonathan Byers, Maya Hawke as Robin Buckley, Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler, Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, Noah Schnapp as Will Byers, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson, and Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair in Stranger Things: Season 5.

Matt clarifies you do not need to see *Stranger Things: The First Shadow* to enjoy and understand *Stranger Things* season 5, but it adds more context. "A lot of the stuff that's covered in the Broadway show is covered in the final season, as well," Matt says. "Actually we had to block the Broadway show producers a lot from putting in too much material that we were gonna have in season 5 because we did not want it to be too spoilery."

The four-time Tony Award-winning *Stranger Things: The First Shadow*, directed by Stephen Daldry and written by Kate Trefry, serves as a prequel to the events of the Netflix TV series. Set in the year 1959, the story follows a young Henry Creel as he arrives in Hawkins, Ind., with his family. It shows how the future Vecna/One fell on the radar of Dr. Martin Brenner and how the horrors in the town began to emerge.

Louis McCartney originated the role of Henry on the West End in London and Broadway in New York. Also featured prominently are younger versions of Joyce Maldonado, James Hopper, Jr., and Bob Newby.

*Stranger Things* season 5 will now pick up more than a year after the season 4 finale in the fall of 1987. Hawkins has been under military occupation due to the rifts that emerged, Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) is back in hiding from the government, and the gang is determined to find and destroy Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) since the big bad seems to have gone off the grid.

The first four episodes of the final season will premiere on Netflix this Nov. 26, followed by the next three on Christmas Day. The two-hour series finale will then stream on the platform and release in select theaters across North America on New Year's Eve.
